Background of Program

Diploma in Environmental Health aims to equip students to safeguard public health and the environment. This course focuses on crucial aspects such as disease control, food hygiene and safety, pest control management, water quality, waste and wastewater disposal, health promotion and occupational health.

Students will learn theory and practical application through classroom, laboratory, and field training. Students will also gain experience through practical training with District Health Office and Local Authority.

This course also assists students in developing the knowledge and expertise required to become Environmental Health Officers who are capable of working for the government, industries, or private organizations to ensure communities are healthy and safe.

Admission Requirements

Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with PASS in Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Inggeris AND with at least 5 CREDITS in the following subjects:

  • Mathematics**;
  • One (1) Science subject (Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/Applied Science);

AND

Any three (3) other subjects (including credit in Bahasa Melayu AND/OR Bahasa Inggeris)

**Applicants who do not achieve a minimum of Grade C (Credit) in Mathematics at the SPM level must attend and pass the Enhancement Class for Mathematics (ECM) course offered by UniMAIWP before commencing their diploma studies at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Contact us at: fhs@unimaiwp.edu.my
