Director’s Message

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and warm greetings,

The Centre of General Studies and Languages (CGSL), Universiti Antarabangsa MAIWP (UniMAIWP), plays a pivotal role in supporting the University’s aspiration to nurture graduates who are intellectually competent, ethically grounded, and socially responsible. In line with UniMAIWP’s vision to produce holistic and balanced individuals grounded in Islamic values, CGSL is committed to strengthening students’ intellectual foundation, language proficiency, and moral character.

At CGSL, we believe that education extends beyond disciplinary knowledge. Through general studies and language education, we aim to cultivate critical thinking, effective communication, intercultural awareness, and lifelong learning skills that are essential in an increasingly interconnected world. Our programmes are designed to integrate knowledge (‘ilm), values (akhlak), and practice (‘amal), ensuring that students are not only academically capable but also principled and compassionate members of society.

Language mastery, particularly in Malay, English, and other relevant languages, is a key focus of the Centre. We view language as a bridge for knowledge dissemination, professional engagement, and meaningful dialogue across cultures. By embedding Islamic perspectives and ethical considerations into our curriculum, CGSL supports UniMAIWP’s mission of producing graduates who can contribute positively to the ummah and the global community.

Moving forward, CGSL remains committed to continuous improvement through innovative teaching, research-informed practices, and strategic collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. We strive to provide a dynamic learning environment that empowers students to face contemporary challenges with confidence, integrity, and wisdom.
