The Centre for General Studies and Languages (PPUB) was established in October 2025 as a key academic centre at UniMAIWP, reflecting the university’s commitment to providing a holistic and well-rounded educational experience. Recognising that higher education extends beyond disciplinary expertise, PPUB was founded to equip students with the knowledge, skills, values, and competencies necessary to thrive in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
As an integral part of the university’s academic ecosystem, PPUB plays a pivotal role in fostering intellectual growth, personal development, and social responsibility among students. The centre serves as a platform for nurturing graduates who are not only academically competent but also ethically grounded, culturally aware, and capable of contributing meaningfully to society. Through its programmes and courses, PPUB promotes lifelong learning, critical inquiry, effective communication, and responsible citizenship—qualities that are essential for success in both professional and personal spheres.
PPUB comprises two academic departments: the Department of General Studies and the Department of Languages. Together, these departments deliver a comprehensive range of courses designed to complement students specialised academic programmes. While the Department of General Studies focuses on nation-building, civic awareness, ethics, leadership, and personal development, the Department of Languages enhances students’ linguistic proficiency and communication skills, enabling them to engage confidently in academic, professional, and multicultural environments.
The establishment of PPUB aligns with national higher education aspirations that emphasize the development of graduates who possess a balanced combination of knowledge, practical skills, values, and social awareness. Through the implementation of General Studies (MPU) and language courses, the centre contributes significantly to the university’s mission of producing graduates who are intellectually capable, socially responsible, and prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.
