The Diploma in Psychology programme is developed to meet the growing need for individuals with knowledge and skills in understanding human behaviour across various social, educational, and organisational settings.

The programme combines academic learning with practical training opportunities, enabling students to apply psychological concepts and theories in real-world situations. Students also benefit from exposure to international learning experiences, industry engagement, and contemporary developments in the field of psychology.

The programme integrates theoretical foundations and practical applications in psychology. Students are exposed to key areas of study, including:

  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Developmental Psychology
  • Social Psychology
  • Cognitive Psychology
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Research Methods in Psychology
  • Counselling Fundamentals
  • Human Behaviour and Mental Processes

The curriculum is designed to develop critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills essential for understanding and working with diverse individuals and communities.

The programme aims to:

  • Develop students’ understanding of human behaviour and mental processes.
  • Equip students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in psychology.
  • Enhance critical thinking, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Promote ethical and professional practices in psychological settings.
  • Prepare students for further studies and career opportunities in psychology and related fields.

Qualified with the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) with at least THREE (3) credits in any subjects, including a pass in Mathematics and Biology/Chemistry/Physics/General Science/Applied Science;

OR

Passed the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) with a minimum grade of C (NGMP 2.0) in any subject, and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/Chemistry/Physics/General Science/Applied Science at the SPM level;

OR

Passed the Malaysian Higher Religious Certificate (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul, and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/Chemistry/Physics/General Science/Applied Science at the SPM level;

OR

Passed a Certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework – MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/Chemistry/Physics/General Science/Applied Science at the SPM level;

OR

Passed the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 in a related field, and a pass in Mathematics and Biology/Chemistry/Physics/General Science/Applied Science at the SPM level;

OR

Other qualifications, relevant experience, and equivalent requirements recognised and accepted by the Government of Malaysia.
